Ecology in Practice
Our company profile can be summed up in three words: economic, social, preserved history.
With the ECOINN Hotel am Campus, opened in 2009, and the ECONVENT events venue, added in 2015, the operators acquired two historic buildings just a few metres apart and, after thorough renovation (including energy upgrades) and conversion, made them fit for the future through a modern new use. This has also preserved the historic townscape of the former imperial city of Esslingen in both places.
The ECOINN Hotel am Campus has set itself the goal of actively relieving the burden on the environment and the climate through the use of renewable energy.
When the hotel was built, the aim was to generate at least as much renewable electricity as the hotel consumes. We have clearly exceeded our own target: each year we produce around three times what we need!
In our own hydroelectric plant we generate fresh renewable electricity, feed the surplus into the grid of Energiewerke Schönau and are therefore an energy-plus hotel!
Our heating and hot water are also produced from Neckar water by means of a heat pump. All these measures make the ECOINN energy self-sufficient.
Economy and Ecology
Throughout the hotel we do without disposable and single-portion packaging and use energy and water responsibly by keeping consumption to the absolute minimum. We clean exclusively with biodegradable products and have done away with vacuum cleaners, which saves electricity and lets allergy sufferers breathe easy.
As a social enterprise, we are also committed to our employees with disabilities, to whom we want to guarantee stable, long-term employment; a business run on sound economic principles is the foundation for this.
For us, economy and ecology are two sides of the same coin: reducing waste to the smallest possible amount, for example, makes sense both economically (lower charges) and ecologically.
In 2012 we were certified as the first climate hotel in the state, and since 2017 we have been a member of Green Line Hotels. We are demonstrably the hotel with the lowest CO2 emissions in the whole of Europe, and therefore also the leader nationwide!
With our three meeting rooms in the hotel and the six rooms at the ECONVENT, we also offer ideal settings for green meetings.

For all other products, we place great importance on regional sourcing and seasonal availability.
Our reception is staffed
from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm.
Outside these hours, a security service ensures your safety.
Guaranteed check-in from 3 pm
Check-out until 11 am
Late check-out is only possible by prior arrangement and for a fee.
Monday to Friday:
6:00 am to 9:30 am
Saturday: 7:00 am to 10:00 am
Sunday: 7:00 am to 10:30 am
